Adam Sandler to Star in Baseball Comedy

Today Variety is reporting that Happy Madison productions have gotten the writes to make a film from the best selling author, Mitch Alborm. No details have been given on the film yet, other than the fact that Sandler will be the star.

Sandler seems to be having a pretty nice career as of late. His new movie, I Know Pronounce You Chuck And Larry (with Kevin James), is coming out soon and details of his other film, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan (with Mariah Carey) have been surfacing. Hopefully these three films can bring Adam back to his former, pre 50 First Dates, comedy glory.

I’m all for this film, even with the more recent lackluster Happy Madison films in recent years. Let’s face it, Adam is not on the top of his game anymore and Happy Madison hasn’t had a true comedy hit since Mr. Deeds. They’ve had a few funny films, and some of which were actually good (Click), but for every Happy Gilmore you get a Grandma’s Boy. So I’m going to keep you posted on any other news, which I’m sure we’ll be getting within the next few months.
